Influencer Strategy

Change is not easy or acceptable, but change is necessary for growth. To keep up, we must also  change how we teach and help others along the way. Influence is powerful, and how you implement it is essential. When you start a new adventure, you have a goal in mind, which is what we did first. We set a plan to implement blending learning to increase student engagement with personalized learning. Secondly, we set up Vital Behaviors, which are small steps of actions that guided us to the results we desired. Third, we set measurements for our vital behaviors, which we tracked. We also created a team of influencers that included all the 4th-grade teachers, the Math, Reading, and Science coaches, campus administrators, technology specialists, curriculum and instruction coordinators, and myself. It was not an easy task to convince others to change, but I used the six sources of Influence from the Influencer: The New Science of Leading Change by J. Grenny.

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”

-John Quincy Adams, 6th U.S. President
