What led me to become the educator I am today?

My campus was struggling and underperforming for years, which is unfair to the students or the community. I knew I had to make a change but did not know how to. I knew I couldn’t wait for others to make a difference. I needed to step up and make something happen, but I did not know what I could do.

I started doing research and looking around at different websites. The description of the Applied Digital Learning Program at Lamar University was that the closest match what I thought would be the best option for me to help my students. In the Applied Digital Learning program at Lamar University, I have learned Growth Mindset, Blended Learning, CSLE+COVA, Learning Manifesto, and many other innovative ways to engage the students and make a remarkable influence on the community.
