This past summer, the principal of Orange Grove Elementary, Jose Diaz, did an open invitation to the entire campus for any professional to be a part of Blended Learning with the University of Texas. The course was to be completed in one week due to schedule conflicts and teachers embarking on summer vacation. I, of course, signed up right away because the idea of being chosen to implement blended learning in my classroom is music to my ears. Since I had a lot of background knowledge, thanks to Dr. Harapnuik and the ADL program at Lamar University, I could help my fellow teachers. As teachers know, students learn best from their peers.

Initiating Blended Learning at Orange Grove
Last updated on July 19, 2022
Hello I am Leticia Cortez, I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown in Urban Education EC- 6 grade with a bilingual certification. I am currently a bilingual teacher in 4th grade at Aldine ISD in Houston, Texas. Things have definitely changed since I was a student 20 years ago. The way I learned is not the same way students are currently learning and in order to change that I have decided to pursue a degree in Applied Digital Learning at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
